EC12 Radio Board

Does anyone make (I'd like to buy one) a radio board set up for RMG, Jib Trimmer, and Twitcher and that bolts to the Keel ballast?

You do not have Hurricanes there in Wa. but the channel aluminum used to hold the top of hurricane shutters can be bent to a "T' with a 2" bottom and 4" spine.

Hi Terry,

Ray Houtz makes a mount that will accomdate the RMG winch, jib trim and rudder servo. It will mount to the keel lead. However, the mount will not accomdate a twitcher I am afraid.

Will you be sailing in Bellingham or will you be heading down to Surprise Lake to join the folks from Gig Harbor?

No EC12's in Bellingham that I know, so I'll be trailing the GH fleet. Am now waiting for the 2008 schedule to decide whether I want to make the Tuesday or both the Tuesday and Sunday.

Having lived in Mill Creek, I don't envy the drive you will have to sail in Gig Harbor. Tuesday will be a killer with the traffic.

I live in CT now and enjoy the easy drives to and fro.

It should not be too difficult to create your own club. Simply find a good spot to sail. What is Lake Padden Park Like? The breeze might be a bit squirlly due to the prevailing SW breeze but it looks like a good size lake. I have driven by Lake Samish on I-5 which also looks good.

Terry: I make a radioboard that houses all four servos. The forward end of the unit attaches to the ballast. The aft end is supported by a cross bar across the top of the keel slot. Please feel free to call me at 727-526-4212 if you would like to discuss the board in more detail.

Chuck: We have an informal club at lake Padden sundays. All are T37's though. There is one Soling (very old and slow). Most people here won't spend the money or time for an EC12. Sigh....

Thanks for the info guys. Here's another question. Who do you think makes the best light wind EC12 sails (say 1 - 5 mph)?

Terry, glad to hear about a new boat in our area. The 2008 calendar will not be out for a couple of months. We also sale EC12's one Sunday a month.
