I developed a Removable Keel Ballast to test in a EC-12 that I am going to complete this winter. I would like to hear the opinions of other skippers and any suggestion. You can see it at http://www.proefrock.net/EC12web/Removable_Ballast.htm

Val,

I am considering building my next boat so that the ballast can be removed for safer transport while crated during shipping. I see you just left the forward dam in place. I was going to lock mine in up forward in a similar manner and put a bead of silicone around the top and down the rear.

Thanks for sharing.

I measured the LWL in the tank.
Per class rule the range must be 42 to 43 inches.
According to the EC-12 Drawing, the distance between the Fore Tip of the hull and the front water line point should be 8â€
