My supply of West System 205 hardener has changed color. Gone from a yellowish clear to a maroon. It seems to mix, harden and perform as before.
Is this an indication of a problem with it? I've emailed West but have yet to hear back from them.

When it gets older it goes designer and turns to a rich glow so you will like it better than younger stuff!

For what its worth. I had a 5 gallon size of 105 resin and the bottom inch had turned to a thick sludge. West advised to place container in hot water and remix the "sludge" back into solution. Maybe the same has happened to yours? Good as new.

There is nothing you can do about the darkening. The fast hardner seems to have a very short shelf life before it turns brown but it seems to work just as well. The darker color doesn't bother me when the resin is used for bonding and I would normally use the slow hardener for clear coating. Just don't buy any more 205 than you expect to use in a 6 month period.
