pulley track length

Postby kermwood » Sun Dec 05, 2004 10:12 am

l am going to run a lenght of ali channel to the bows with a pulley mounted on the end(as several other skippers have done in the past)
What l need to work out is the min length of track l can have to
keep the weight down but to still have full sheet travel for the sails
Am l right in thinking that the length of track would equal length of sheet travel

I have this system in both my boats at it works great. The length of track I have is about 2 inches longer than travel required. The weight is not really an issue for me as the whole system (rack, winch, pulley and track)is around 180grams (sorry don't know oz's.
The track is amde from curtain track (alloy) and the slide is a curtain slide that the sheet clips onto.
if you want a photo email direct and I can send one to you.[8D]

Multiply grams by .04 to find ounces...7.24 oz is close to 180 Gms.
