In the EC12 Deck and Rig drawing, the quoted rudder shaft diameter is 5/32 in. From following the discussions as well as in the EC12 manual it seems that the size used is 3/16 in. Any comments / reasons?

Jake
The smaller 5/32" shaft is easily bent if you snag the rudder (or drop the boat and the tip of the rudder hits first)

Jake, I e-mailed you a supplier for the 3/16" ID brass tubing. I've got all the SS 3/16" drill rod you'll need for the shaft, if you want to go with the larger dia. Let's get this boat going.

Thanks, Paul. I've decided to go for the larger diameter and already ordered the tube.
