Airbrushing a hull

Postby geeks2you » Fri Feb 26, 2010 1:37 pm

I am planning on stripping down my hull and repainting it. Has anyone had any experience with what types of paints to spray on the hull with an airbrush? or does anyone have any good links to sources for paint?

Thanks
Eric

Eric,
I found this article that explains how to paint gel coat. I hope it helps. You might have to find something about stripping the hull.

I painted my hull using autmotive paint and my airbrush. At the automotive paint store I asked for their touch up quantity and it saved me much money. No need in buying lots of paint because it doesn't take much. You can also purchase modeling quantities of auto paint from radiosouth.com a modeling RC Radio repair place that also sells paints for modelers in small quantities. To paint over the Gelcoat all I did is wet sand with some 1500 grit let dry and paint. No problems at all.
