I saw your photos. Isn't December a bit cold for sailing?

The Worlds will be held by the US EC12 Class the first part of November 2009 and likely to be at Disney World or Charleston South Carolina. When we have a date and place the invitations will go out and you are on the list for Sweden. Happy New Year.

From Sweden will me and my self #1960 and my partner Dick #1961 wish you all a verry god new year! Unfortunately haven´t I built finished Dick bout jet. This year 2008 have been complet crasy, hol lot a work to do, so the time hasn´t enough. But 2009 I hope it will be finish. My Sweden Blue have I sailed a lot of this sommer. Unfortunately have I not have some one to compete with. I love this boat, It´s the most beutiful modelboat as ever is!

This is great news that Sweden is coming to Charleston. One of you countrymen, Gerhard Kelter from Stockholm and works here, will be at the event too.

I am not sure if I will make the cut of USA sailors but if I do;how much left to complete your friends boat?
I am staying at Hampton Inn (Ashley) and can bring assembly "stuff".
Can I bring a race-ready boat to Charleston for him to sail? This is assumming Rick will allow a quick sale/repurchase agreement at the site.

I don't think the skipper has to be an owner of the boat he is sailing although the boat must be properly documented from it's home country

At the last event in NZL Jim Linville used a loaned a kiwi boat but still sailed as a US entrant.

I am unsure of the full requirements for October, but if it is like we had here in 2006, the skipper was able to "charter" a local boat and still be recognised as their home country entrant.

Nothing has changed. The event is still based the entrants home country rules. Or, as it is said, "If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck..."

Goran and his countryman have US hulls. So do the French, British and Canada. Down Under it is more like those before the 95 Standard.

We will have some from our US Class sailing under the country flag of their heritage like, NZL, GBR and SWE. Chartering is available and 94 will likely be available. I have not decided yet. There are a lot of other boats that could be available without any trouble as the owners will be there; Jim Linville, Bud Cassidy, Papa Gerry, Doug Wotring for starters.

If I can't make this regatta, I will offer up my boat to a foreigner. I also have my old 95 standard Robin that I can dust off.

My take on this regatta is that it is a huge undertaking to pack up a 12 and cart it half way around the World. If a skipper can make the trip, we should try to help them out with a loner boat.

Ask Gerhard Kelter about my boat. But forget everything he says about the rudder.
