Sounds like fun. Just keep in mind that scale does not translate perfectly with respect to the rudder. You will need a much bigger rudder than the tiny little spade rudder that boat has. You might also find it hard to get enough lead into the scale keel. But if you are making it the winged keel, it might not be a factor. Some experimenting might be needed. I am no naval architect, and I am not sure if you are. If you are, you know all this and if not, maybe somebody can work up some figures for you to change the scale of the appendages to make them work.
Take pictures of your progress. I am sure there are lots who would be interested. Maybe it will evolve into a new class. The AC-12, for Aussie Coast 12-meter.
