That would be tragic in my case since the boat sailing on it's own often saves me from what I am thinking about.

I am SO in agreement with you.Seems often my boat is just a memory-no visual- from the 10 second count-down until a few(too many)seconds after start.I can usually see that boat to leeward and as long as he's not calling for me to come up I guess I am OK.But my brain really wants to be somewhere else!
