You can make a "jet pump" by passing a fluid (air) over an orifice (with a venturi is better) and create a siphon or suction if you prefer, and they can be amazingly powerful. Google search it and you should have more than you can read. Many planes use the same principal for transfer pumps keeping a main hopper full from which the engines draw their fuel.

I NOW USE A SYSTEM THAT USES AN A/C VACCUM COMPRESSOR WHICH IS DESIGNED TO HANDEL THE LONG CURRING PROCESS.

thanks bob,perhaps i was trying to justify the purchase of a compressor our local store has them on special.i will have to think of another excuse ![^]

Tosh you can use a compressor for a vacum pump just fit your vacbag hose to the inlet of the compressor where the filter is screwed to the head but <b>please fit a inline filter</b> in the hose so as not to get any nastys into the compressor (I have been useing mine as a vacum clamp for my hand router for about 10 years)
