Ihad to buy three stamps. The first two came out at 8:59. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to write Rick a letter telling him how I feel about this system. [:p]

I too was in line this morning with another member from my club. I was the first in the door when they opened. Didn't think to see what time it was. Bought a roll of stamps and got my receipt with 8:57:23 AM. So I got back in line and bought one more stamp.

I showed my slip to the other guy who quietly waited let three people in line go by before he got the next clerk. His slip read 9:00:36 AM. That one will be tough to beat.

My second slip said 9:01:05. That should be good enough. It was funny to see the look on peoples faces when we bought one stamp and asked for a receipt.

After all the planning and what I thought would be a good start buying a postal stamp at 9:00 AM turned out just like some of the races.
A few days ago I explained in detail to the girl at the post office what we needed on Saturday morning. She made a note of it on her calendar to remind her.
The office opens at 9:00AM - and not before!!!!!
There were 2 skippers in line, 1st and 2nd.
At 9:00 they rolled up the large metal cover.
There were 2 people behind the counter and the girl who said she would be ready to sell me the stamp was missing.
The 1st. skipper went to one and the 2nd skipper went to another.
The 1st skipper's sales rep. could not get her computer on line to print a receipt so eventually both skippers bought their stamps from the only computer that would work.
The second skipper beat the 1st skipper by over a minute and the start times were not that great.
What about REDRESS as it was caused by actions of others[?].

I know I won't be there but given light heartedness here in this thread please refer to the following RRS!![:D][:D][:D][:D]
Call the boat below POSTALSTAFF[:)]

1.1 Danger - of missing out[V]

3 If you miss out[:(]

If above don't work try these ones:

19 Obstruction (by POSTALSTAFF) [:o)]

22.1 Interference (By POSTALSTAFF again) [;)]

or for a final attempt at redress go back to:

18.5 That damn boat POSTALSTAFF without rights![xx(]

Good luck to the first 42 of you[:p]

Another Post Office Saturday Morning story. Was first in line, another EC12 sailor behind me, doors open not on time about 9:01. Went to first counter, after being told I may approach this counter, clerk still putting her money drawer in order. Purchased one of the two stamps I need (mailing entry for another sailor as well). Time on mine was 9:02, the other purchase was 9:03. The sailor who as behind me went to the other counter and his purchase was date/time before mine. Oh well, so goes this Post Office System.

Got to the post office at 8:45 only to see the big metal doors closed with access only to the outer lobby. Quickly ran out to the front Door to see what their hours were. They said open at 9:00. Not a car in the lot but mine. I panicked as the next post office was 20 miles away... Thank God the clerk pulled up at 8:50 and I showed her the NOR and said I had to have a receipt as close to 9:00 AM as possible. She went right in and turned on her register and printed out a test receipt. We waited until it exactly turned 9:00 AM and she printed me off a receipt with 9:00 stright up..... Ran up to Mickey D's and bought her an EggMcMuffin and a large OJ! I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT ALL THESE POOR MAIL CLERKS ARE THINKING!!!!

And because of the poor performance of the U.S Postal service my 0900:03 ticket put me on the stand-by list.
