The boat was first registered to Tom McNally in Florida in 1979. A year later it went to Kevin Sedgwick in St. Petersburg and that was the last entry in the Registry. Neither are current with AMYA now.

It looks like a Dumas but I do not think it is, as I do not see a beveled lip around the hatch or a water deflector forward of the cockpit. This has an AM radio with a ProBar "bang/bang winch. The spars are all wooden and the sails appear to be 2 ounce Dacron and a to be B rig.

The boat appears to be in good condition and would be nice for a classic sailing yacht. It would be a complete rebuild for competition. This would be a nice project for less than $400.

I agree, Rick. It is not a Dumas but could possibly be an old Hickman or a Treasure Tooling hull. Either way, it can be a super deal.

I have a "Where are they now" question. I had an Ozmun hull, all black and sail number 989. Anyone seen it?

You are the only one it has been registered with. So, if it was sold or given away, it was never transfered.

I sold it five or six years ago to a guy in New Jersey. Gave him the registration card too and that was it. Deep sixed? Planter? Collecting dust? Who knows. Maybe someday it will show up on eBay.

The one on ebay was ended with a no longer for sale explaination.

Usually that means a deal was made off ebay.

Yeah the EBAY police will probably track him down and kick in his door for their $3.50 they get pretty bent about that sort of thing.

It dosen't matter if the eBay police show up....they already have your credit card number to charge for the listing whether it sells or not.

Ebay does allow for selling of the item by other means......they do not like if you use thier communication system to make the deal but the make money from the time you place the listing......if you sell it on ebay that is just BONUS $$ to them

I was high bidder on it too...offered to buy it and he said no. Later said he was offered 500.00 and took it. I only offered 250.00 as it looked like a rebuild. Oh well...still looking.

Any item is worth only as much as someone is willing to pay for it. I ran across a Hickman hull with rig and radio (very beat up). the boat needed a total rebuild so I offered a price consistent with condition. But, because someone told the individual it was worth much more than what I thought it was worth, my offer was turned down. Sometimes it's much easier to start with new stuff.

I did email the seller on the boat and he said he got $500 when the bidding was at $250 and he ran with it. Most of the bidding goes on in the last few minutes of the auction. Interesting to see how much you guys were willing to spend though. I always thought it was illegal per Ebay rules once you got a bid to yank it. I know I once thought I bid $2 and it showed up as $200, boy did I panic until I found out you could withdraw the bid in case of error. Hopefully somebody paying $500 for a very old boat must know something more than we do.....

It is against Ebay rules, but there is not much that they can do about it. I don't see much in the way of quality boats on Ebay, the odd one here and there. In the last couple of years I have only seen a couple of EC-12's there, an S/B that went for $480 just the other day but it was an OLD one (wooden mast) I imagine that once we get everything knocked out I will be putting some boats (including EC-12) on there as well just to help get them out to the public.
