The EC12 Class has lost a good friend today. While we knew this day was coming, it does not make it any easier. He will be missed. Suzanne said it best:

My dear Richard died this morning at 3:35.

What we remember, what we cherish, what we savor, what we love,
does not die, unless we forget. This is a miracle. Are we not blessed?

With love, Suzanne

I have been in contact with his son Ricky and will get the word out about memorial services soon. Until then, our thoughts and prayers are with Suzanne, Ricky and Becky.

God bless.

Those were good words Suzanne and of them warm thoughts always. I was at his bedside one week ago and his eyes and smile were just as you see here. He could not speak very well but his humor and zest persisted. 96 will sail on but the Skipper will be missed, as another good friend sails west.

Yes, his humor did persist. I made a visit about two weeks ago and was sitting next to him with a tervis tumbler in my hand filled with nothing but ice. Although it was difficult for him to communicate, he had no problem uttering the words "go fill your cup up for Christ's sake." So, not being one to argue or disappoint..........

Miss you already Papa D!!!!
