The final missive on the Worlds is now posted on the Class site at http://www.ec12.org and there are links to a photo page in the Regatta section of the Building site at http://www.ec12.info; mostly by Yachtie. Enjoy and how to see you all very soon. A new B rig is ordered.

I would like to thank the New Zealand EC-12 association for a job well done. Craig Jones and crew did a bang up job under difficult conditions. I would also like to thank Ian Hull-Brown and Bruce Edgar for showing me how to do it in the heavy stuff. Phil Whitley for organizing a great regatta and Rod Liddy for his help in our travels around New Zealand. Your country is beautiful and we will return.

Looking forward to sailing with ya'll in 2009, "somewhere" in the USA

May I be the first to offer Rick and Team USA Congratulations![8D] I have visited the beautiful Nelson,NZ area and could well picture the difficulty it posed for the Regatta due to the unusual weather conditions there.
I for one, and hopefully speaking for all in the USA EC12 fleet, look forward to the next Worlds and hope it will now become a yearly event! Sincerely, Tony Bollers, EC/12- 195

Well my hat is off to your superb sailors, Rick West and Jack Wubbe especially.[:D]
Using their own boats which are set up for the USA conditions of light to very light winds and not having the benefit of sails of the New Zealand C rig size,,,,,,,,, ( which when you see the photo`s, you will understand, are the only thing suitable for the 20 knot conditions of Saturday), they hung in and survived what must have been the most extreme conditions they had ever experienced.
For me, being from Wellington, it was simply a matter of changing down and getting on with it. I enjoy a bit of breeze.[}:)]
Having been caught out before with sails too large for the conditions, I know how hard it is to sail an EC12, overcanvased.
A nightmare![8]
Jack and myself fought out for third place which I think we shared.
A well mannered and excellent sailor it was a pleasure to compete with him.
All of the USA contingent along with their wives, were the most wonderful ambassadors for your country, you have every right to be so proud of them all.
Best wishes from Ian Hull-Brown.

DO IT NOW, Before it`s to late
